This weekend, we all went to Amed in East Bali. It was Mum and Dad’s fifth anniversary, but, to be honest, neither of them even remembered that it was till we were half way there — what a pair of duffers.
Anyway, when I get to a new place, the first thing I like to do is sleep — long and hard — that way my energy levels are at full strength for a complete appraisal of the resort. Ok, I admit to embellishing the facts somewhat — I actually arrived in Amed covered in vomit, having spewed all over myself, my car chair, Mum, her seat belt and pretty much anything else within spitting distance… but lets not get hung up on minor details…
So here’s a pic of me charging my batteries.

Then he’s a shot of what I woke up to — not bad huh

Mum and Dad had booked us all into these quick funky two-storey bungalow contraptions and I thought they were awesome as there were loads of verandas to fall off, slippery stairs to slide off and electrical cables to swing off — it was like a fun park! Downstairs was the main bed, and upstairs was a second bed — it was great – here’s a pic. That’s out shack on the left.

The resort also had a good swimming pool, though as you can see, few of the staff had children as young as me, as the deck chairs cushions were never out by the time I got up!

Eastern Bali is known for its black sand beaches — I didn’t spend much time on the beach as it was too bright for a delicate little flower like myself, but Mum and Dad really liked it, especially for the snorkelling. That white contraption in the pic is a fishing boat — more on that later.

I like to switch my cuteness into overdrive when on holiday – here’s a good example.

We did some driving around to check out some other bays, and we discovered Amed to be really beautiful and w’ll have to return again and again and again I think. Here’s a typical scene.

On the last day, Daddy decided to get up at the crack of dawn and go out with a fisherman on his boat. While they were out he saw the sun rising over Lombok (another island)

He also got a good view of the volcano…

And here’s a pic of the boatman (his name was “Made”) and the land behind them — that’s where we were staying.

So there you go, another trip in the bag and here I am off for the next one!

If you see this poor girl, please help her by giving her milk….

Smile inducing post
and Amed looks quite inviting indeed
