Bikini girl0

188bikini.jpg

On the way to being bikini girl I saw our latest orchid bloom.

And just because mummy likes photos of me so much, here’s my red dress.

Mmmm, rice cereal0

Today I had my first meal, but it was really just runny stuff fed to me on a spoon, so I was a bit ambivalent about it all.

186food2.jpg

Still, I managed a few mouthfuls. A few others I shared with my bib.

186food1.jpg

It got much better when I just took the spoon myself.

186food3.jpg

Yes, not too bad. Not too bad at all.

Latest stats as of yesterday, when I had my six-monthly checkup and jabs: weight 6.9 kg, height 64.5 centimetres.

My Singapore story0

Here I am on my way to Singapore last week for my holiday with Papa, Nannie Sandra, Nannie Gay, Uncle Grae, Auntie Erin, Uncle Kel, Maddie, Rhys and Mummy and Daddy.

We did lots of shopping, of course, and I learned many important things. Who knew, for instance, that they made so many things for babies? I bought my first pair of shoes. It was a big decision: butterflies or pirates? I got the butterflies. But I think I’ll go back for the pirates, just as soon as I manage to get some pocket money. Because I also learned that you can never have too many pairs of shoes.

I also went to lots of restaurants even though I’m not eating solids yet. Auntie Erin tried to slip me a rusk but eagle-eyed Mummy was really mean and wouldn’t let her. Here I am smiling at Uncle Graeme just before we, I mean, they had some Singapore chilli crab.

Papa growled at me a lot. But I learned to kind of growl back at him.

I went swimming heaps. Nannie Gay bought me a really neat swimsuit so now I can stay in the pool for ages.

We went to the Botanic Gardens which were very pretty.

Nannie Gay, Uncle Grae, Mummy and me went to the Bird Park, too. Here I am with Uncle Grae and the pink flamingoes.

The best bit was seeing the penguins swimming underwater. I think that’s because I was watching from an air-conditioned room. This tropical heat just gets too much! That’s why beer’s good.

Really good.

Nannie Gay gave me my nighttime bottle one night.

Uncle Grae tried to have a turn too. But I told him “I can do it by myself!” Mummy couldn’t get that song out of her head all week.

We had a little party for Maddie, who is nearly three. Here she is blowing her candles out with her mummy.

Here I am wearing her doctor’s glasses.

And here I am with her and Rhys.

This is me on my last morning. I like to crawl in my sleep.

180cot.jpg

This morning back in Jakarta I got up at 5am to play. I think I was overtired from a big day yesterday. So I fell asleep again pretty soon after I got up. Mummy and Daddy didn’t even have to put me in my cot.

The end.

Leaps and bounds0

Just back from a lovely week in Singapore this afternoon and within a few hours Lyla had:
1) crawled forward from a sitting position;
2) belly laughed; and
3) crawled over to her dummy and put it in her mouth.

Talk about a good excuse to go away with her cousins again!
