Australia

I just got back from my first-ever trip to Australia! It was lots of fun. It started with a looooong plane trip from Jakarta to Sydney, but I was very well-behaved and slept loads and didn’t even do a poo. Nannie Gaye and Pop met me at the airport and then I met Uncle Graeme at home.

I saw Auntie Susanne again. She took Mummy to a few of the shops where she’s bought some of my wonderful wardrobe. But Mummy wouldn’t buy as much as she did!

I met Auntie Julia for the first time. She has really tasty fingers.

The three of us went for a trip to Watson’s Bay. Twice. Because Mummy and Julia were talking too much to notice they had arrived the first time. Luckily, Julia has an American accent so Mummy made her go and ask about what was going on and could they please stay on the ferry for one more trip. And also luckily, the view was excellent.

I met Auntie Eva.

Next I stayed at Nannie Sandra and Papa’s. We took lots of family shots while we were there, even some on automatic timing. When I grow up, I’m going to learn to use lots of gadgets that always work — it’s in my genes, I think.

Here’s Nannie Sandra. Mummy screwed up and didn’t have a hat to match my butterfly outfit. I guess I’ll have to learn to occasionally wear things that don’t quite go together. I think that’s in my genes, too.

We went on a long trip up the coast to visit my great-Grandma and great-Pop. Here we all are:

Back in Sydney, I loved meeting my two cousins, Madison and Rhys. Madison was very sweet and always found my dummy for me.

I like her very much. But Rhys, he kept taking my dummy away! At least in the end he gave it back.

Auntie Erin was around to help me out. Here are her hands. Mummy was silly and didn’t get a good photo of me with her.

I went to Rhys’ christening in the city and afterwards we went out for lunch right next to Sydney Harbour.

Later that day, lots of people also came over to Nannie Sandra and Papa’s to have a tree planted for me. It’s a little tree so far and it’s not supposed to grow more than four metres. I don’t think I’m going to grow more than that either. Here’s my outfit for the day.

Here’s Daddy making a little speech.

And here’s Mummy thinking it’s pretty funny.

Great-auntie Jayne made Rhys and I a spectacular cake for the day.

I spent quite a bit of time in the car seat getting from place to place. Thanks for lending it to me, Uncle David!

I met my friend Edie. She’s just one month older than me and she was born on Mummy’s birthday. Edie and I hung out on the mat while her mummy and my mummy talked about how they didn’t miss work at all because we’re so much fun to be with. Most of the time.

I also spent time just hanging out.
