It seems baby has inherited my penchant for early morning action.
S just woke me up to tell me (it’s 4am here).
Contractions five minutes apart, lasting for 45 seconds.
Sam saying going on how painful they are now, she may be a little angry at me later on…
So weird last night before I went to sleep, my belly was really sore and I thought I was having a sympathy belly…
Will update as time and contractions allow!
Update
Ok, we’re going to hospital. I’m not taking the laptop… so you’ll have to wait for an update!
For anyone who is waiting with baited breath, I heard from the non pregnant S as they were standing on the side of the road to catch a cab in Bangkok to the hospital (as you do!).
A little while later a text came in that S (the soon to be not pregnant one) was 2cm dilated.
If I hear anymore I will update cyberspace… until Daddy can.
That is so exciting! Looking forward to hearing the good news.
At about 5:30 S (the pregnant one) was still in the bath and about 7cm dilated.
Non Pregnant S was very pleased it wasn’t him that was 7cm dilated.
Thanks very much for the updates! SO EXCITING! Hoping S isn’t too tired after … must be 14 hours or so by now.
Can’t wait to hear the big news.
Okay, not that many of you will be awake but…
Lyla May McDonald was born at 6.51 pm.
Mum and Baby are both well (albeit a little tired and sore).
Daddy sounds slightly awestruck and shattered by the intensity of the event.
Daddy will make his first posting full of details and pictures of my beautiful niece on the morrow.
All my love and congratulations to you both on a job bloody well done! Bravo!
An upside to being on the other side of the world is that I’m awake to see the good news! Who knows when you’ll be checking this again, but congratulations and lots of love to all of you — and what a beautiful name!
Congratulations from M, M, B and J. We are so happy for you all. Such a lovely way to start the day hearing that wonderful news. So glad S and Lyla May are well. Look forward to seeing pics and hearing Daddy S talk about the arrival of his precious baby girl.
Great news, S was so right from the beginning, a lovely little girl, and what a beautiful name Lyla May, cannot wait for the photos.
Love and congratulations to you all,
Welcome to the world Lyla May. Well done S & S. All my love to the new family.
Woo hoo!! Welcome lil Lyla! Such fabulous news. Champion effort Ms S – can’t wait to hear all the gory details. Much love from us, especially E who is very excited about her new SE Asian correspondent.
